Whisper Privacy Policy

How Whisper handles Screen Time data, on-device storage, optional iCloud settings sync, purchases, and notifications.

Last updated: August 5, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Whisper, an Aleatrick app, handles information. Whisper reads your own Screen Time to show a daily balance between two voices — a Devil that tempts and an Angel that checks in. That reading stays on your device. Whisper contains no code that sends usage information anywhere.

Screen Time information stays on your device

Whisper is granted access to Screen Time by you, through Apple’s own permission dialog, and uses it only on the device:

  • Which apps you asked Whisper to watch, and the settings for each
  • Time spent, pickups, and the usage milestones each app reached
  • Whispers that were delivered, and the answers you chose
  • Daily and weekly balance figures
  • Scroll Pass history, Scenes, experiments, and Angel Guard state

None of this is uploaded, sent to Aleatrick, or shared with anyone. It is written to a private container shared only between Whisper and its own extensions. Deleting the app removes all of it.

Whisper does not learn which apps you use

Apple’s Screen Time framework hands apps an opaque token instead of a name. Whisper stores that token and nothing else. The app never learns the name or bundle identifier of any app you monitor. When an app name or icon appears on screen, iOS draws it from the token — Whisper cannot read it, record it, or transmit it.

No usage data leaves the device

This is a property of the code rather than a policy choice. Whisper, its shared framework, and all five of its extensions contain no networking code for usage data — no HTTP client, no socket, no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no advertising SDK. There is no path by which Screen Time information could be sent, and no setting that could enable one.

iCloud sync (optional, off by default)

If you turn on iCloud sync in Settings, Whisper copies your settings only, through your own iCloud account:

  • Whisper timing and tone
  • Protocol selection and Scene definitions
  • Angel Guard configuration
  • Balance weighting preferences

Usage history, whispers, balance figures, Scroll Pass records, and Screen Time tokens are never synced. Aleatrick has no access to your iCloud data. Turning the setting off stops further syncing.

Notifications

Whispers are delivered as local notifications, scheduled on your device by Whisper’s monitoring extension. No notification passes through a server, and no push service is used to deliver them.

Purchases

Whisper Plus is sold through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles payment and receives the information required by its own purchase flow. Whisper receives only whether an entitlement is active, and caches that on the device so paid features keep working offline.

If sales reporting is enabled in a future release, RevenueCat may receive the product purchased, its price and currency, the App Store country, a transaction identifier, an anonymous identifier, and basic device and OS information. It would not receive Screen Time information: that SDK does not link Apple’s Screen Time frameworks, and Whisper passes it no usage data. This policy will be updated before any such release.

Service providers

Whisper uses service providers only for the functions described here:

  • Apple for App Store distribution, StoreKit purchases, Screen Time permissions, local notifications, and optional iCloud settings sync
  • Cloudflare for Aleatrick’s public website only

Whisper does not use an analytics provider, an advertising network, or cross-app tracking, and does not sell personal data.

What Whisper does not do

Whisper does not block apps, close apps, or take control of your device. It does not monitor other people. It does not report to a parent, employer, or third party. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or give advice about any condition.

Retention and deletion

Everything Whisper stores can be removed from within the app: reset today’s data, reset all history, or reset onboarding. Deleting Whisper from your device removes the entire shared container, including all Screen Time records, settings, and cached purchase state. If iCloud sync was enabled, settings copies can be removed by turning off sync and deleting the app’s iCloud data from your Apple Account settings.

Children

Whisper is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum digital-consent age required in their region.

Changes

This policy may change as Whisper’s features or legal requirements change. The Last updated date will change when meaningful revisions are published.
