Alinea separates your local archive from your public cloud presence. Deleting one does not silently delete the other.
Export before deleting
Before removing important data, use Alinea’s export or full local backup tools. Depending on the record, export may include Markdown, PDF, image, route summary, media, or a structured archive for restore.
Backup files do not transfer sign-in sessions, public-sharing authority, or Membership purchase rights. Store exports carefully because they may contain personal writing, media, and location labels.
Delete a local record
Local deletion affects the current device. Entries and Walks may move to Trash first so they can be restored before permanent deletion. Media files linked only to a permanently deleted local record should also be removed when no other local record uses them.
Remove location only
Where available, you can remove location from a record without deleting its writing or media. Withdrawing a public location should remove its discovery coordinates and refresh affected Map and City Archive results.
Withdraw public content
Withdrawing a public or shared record should:
- Remove it from Feed, Map Discovery, Profile, and City Archive as applicable
- Revoke active share links
- Remove public location rows and published route data
- Delete or invalidate its public media in object storage
- Refresh public counts and archive summaries
A local copy can remain Private unless you choose to delete it separately.
Delete comments and social data
You can delete comments you created. A post owner may remove comments from their own post according to Alinea’s moderation rules. Likes, Saves, Follows, blocks, and mutes can be changed independently in the app.
Delete your cloud account
Account deletion is available from Alinea’s account and safety controls. It should withdraw owned public records, remove the public profile, revoke share links, delete public social rows and public media, and request deletion of the associated authentication account.
The app separately asks whether to remove local records from the current device. This avoids deleting a Private archive merely because its cloud account is removed.
Deleting an Alinea account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel or manage a subscription through Apple.
If you cannot access the app
Email support@aleatrick.com from the address associated with the account. Include Alinea, the sign-in method, and a brief request. Do not send Private writing, exact routes, authentication tokens, payment details, or full media files.
Aleatrick may need to verify account ownership before acting on a cloud deletion request.
Retention
Some information may remain temporarily in backups, security logs, payment records, fraud-prevention systems, or moderation records when required for recovery, legal compliance, abuse handling, or service integrity. Retained information is not restored to ordinary public surfaces.
